Refined Linseed Oil
Refined linseedoil, free from “break” material, with extra pale color, very low acid value and low odour. Raw material for the production of Alkyd resin, standoils, and epoxydised linseedoil. To be used in paints, varnishes and printing inks of very low colour
What is the difference between refined and unrefined linseed oil?
Raw linseed oil has an acid value of 4–7, while alkali refined linseed oil is less than one. Exceptions to this are specially refined oils with high acid values to obtain better pigment-wetting properties.
Function
Alkali Refined Linseed Oil is demanded for furniture finish, oil paints, wood floors and others. It is extensively used for the production of oil modified polyester resins (i.e. alkyd resins), stand oils, printing varnishes, maleate and urethane oils in the synthetic varnish-paints-and printing colour industry
